Golf all day, regroup at the house

Scottsdale and the surrounding Valley have dozens of public and resort courses. Golf groups want a base where everyone can be up early, out the door together and back for an afternoon by the pool. Five bedrooms and nine beds let a foursome or three keep their own rooms where possible, and the open kitchen handles quick breakfasts.

A putting green by the pool

The backyard putting green sits right next to the private pool, so the short game practice and the post-round swim are steps apart. Mini golf, a basketball sport court and snookball round out the competition.

Settle the side bets with a closest-to-the-pin putting contest before dinner, or run a long-drive argument into a mini golf rematch. For the non-golfers in the group, there is plenty else to do: the hot tub, backyard bowling, cornhole, giant chess, giant Jenga, ping pong, foosball and the pool table in the game room. That mix matters on trips where not everyone plays every round, because the house stays lively while the foursomes are out on the course and everyone comes back to the same place afterwards.

Evenings

The covered outdoor kitchen and bar, long dining table and hot tub pavilion with an outdoor television make the house a good place to settle the day’s scores. Pool heat is optional and can be added for your stay; see the booking page for details. Pool heat is purchased for the entire stay.

Choosing courses

Our local guide lists golf courses with official sites and door-to-door directions from the house. We do not book tee times or publish green fees; check each course directly. Big tournament weeks such as the WM Phoenix Open, typically in early February, affect course availability and demand.

Sample golf trip itinerary

Day one: check in at 4 p.m., sort rooms and spend the evening on the putting green and in the hot tub. Day two: an early tee time, lunch near the course, then an afternoon by the pool and dinner at the long dining table. Day three: a second course in the morning, a basketball or snookball rematch in the afternoon and a night out in Old Town by rideshare. Final morning: breakfast at the house and a 10 a.m. checkout.

Larger golf groups often split into foursomes on different courses and regroup at the house, which is easier when everyone sleeps under one roof. The kitchen, covered outdoor kitchen and bar, and outdoor dining spaces make it simple to cook for the group instead of finding a restaurant that can seat 18 every night.

Pack layers for cooler mornings in winter and spring, and plan for heat in summer. Bring your own clubs or arrange rentals directly with the course.
